Selling More Oregon Wine Direct to Consumers For over 25 years Jean Yates has helped Oregon and Washington wineries sell their wine and garner national exposure. As owner of Avalon Wine, a retail store and website, avalonwine.com was the premier resource for information about Oregon wine, dominating google listings about Oregon wine with dozens of outstanding articles, winery profiles, and wine reviews.

Avalon brought the first national attention to many startup wineries, inspiring Jason Lett of Eyrie Vineyards to nickname Jean the "den mother of Oregon wine". She sold Avalon Wine and avalonwine.com in October 2013. In December 2013 Jean started a new company, Oregon Wine Marketing, devoted to helping Oregon wineries sell more wine. She is using her many years of experience to help them build and keep a community of loyal customers, to increase wine club memberships and renewals, and to attract more tourists.

Jean helps wineries improve their websites, create and implement effective email marketing campaigns, build an effective social media plan, promote events, develop strategic and affordable advertising, and make them stand out as a "must see" winery on the web.

Previous to Avalon Wine, Jean founded Yates Ventures, a software industry market research firm, sold it to International Data Corporation, and ran a division there based in Palo Alto CA researching cross platform operating systems. Abandoning life in the fast lane, she left high tech and blissfully settled down in one place and one time zone to embrace life in Oregon wine country.
