Jeff Decker
My yoga practice began over 18 years ago when a profound sage - dressed in the guise of a 60 year-old Welsh woman -challenged me to my first class and after my athletic embarrassment - I have practiced for at least 15 minutes upon waking everyday since.
Currently I am teaching at: Pretender Studios 1635 16th St in Santa Monica: an all levels Hour of Power-flow: Mon, Wed, & Friday 930-1030am In addition: I am a sub at Bryan Kests' Poweryoga - have private clients, sub at 5-Point Yoga in Malibu, and I also co-teach with Alanna Zabel (L.A.’s Best Yoga Teacher 2011) for her giving non-profit CLK Yoga- a pay it forward collective. My current study is Egyptian Yoga with Dr. Saleem.
Co-owner of The Yard neighborhood gastro-pub for over 10 years, I have been ingrained in the Santa Monica community for over 18 years and am currently on the Hospitality Committee, member of Downtown Santa Monica Inc, Chamber of Commerce, & received a Sustainable Works Award for environmental practices implemented at The Yard. Additionally I have worked in and around the entertainment industry for many years.
Currently I am ghostwriting a novel. I am transitioning a screenplay to novel format.
In 2000 I wrote ‘Therapy’ an original play in which I produced, starred, and directed for a 4 week run. I then studied at the highly esteemed Groundlings improv troupe for 5 years. Shortly thereafter -Jeff starting my own improv troupe - The Prolonged Players - who performed several shows and went on to be the entire cast of Therapy.
In 2005 he wrote for Sony’s GSN: writing over 40 game scripts and trivia challenges, while editing the ‘help’ notes for Brain Teaser and Splashworks.
In 2007 Jeff wrote and directed the web-i-series “(Sub) Urban Dating” with 5 web-i-sodes and wrote, produced, and directed “DMV” an inspiring short about long lines.
He has written over 5 screenplays and 10 TV shows.
