Author and attorney Jeffery Leving graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology's Chicago-Kent College of Law with his Juris Doctor in 1979. Now a leader in the field of family law, Mr. Leving has co-written a number of Illinois state mandates, including the Right to DNA Testing Notice, the new Illinois Virtual Visitation, the Illinois Joint Custody Law, and the Unlawful Visitation or Parenting Time Interference Laws. Additionally, Jeffery Leving has presented testimony to both houses of the Illinois state legislature on a number of family law issues. His firm, the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd., concentrates on Family and Matrimonial Law. In addition to co-authoring state laws, Jeffery Leving has written Father's Rights: Hard-Hitting and Fair Advice for Every Father Involved in a Custody Dispute and Divorce Wars: A Field Guide to the Winning Tactics, Preemptive Strikes, and the Top Maneuvers When Divorce Gets Ugly, two books on divorce law. He also publishes Leving's Divorce Magazine, which seeks to educate, empower, entertain, and enrich divorced men. Licensed to practice law in Illinois, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Jeffery Leving earned distinction as one of “America's Best Lawyers” by Forbes Radio. Mr. Leving maintains membership with the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Federal Trial Bar, and The Decalogue Society of Lawyers, in addition to a number of local bar associations. Appointed by the governor of Illinois to the role of Chairman of the Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood, he functions as the President Emeritus of the Fatherhood Educational Institute, which was created to promote positive fatherhood involvement in impoverished communities.
