I'm a third-year information science phd student at the University of Washington in Seattle. My research area is human-computer interaction and information retrieval (web search), specifically post-query user behavior. My masters and undergraduate degrees are in computer science from the University of Illinois (UIUC). I've started a company with a couple of friends called World Blender making geolocation mobile games. We have seed funding from Techstars and we're working on our first few games. On Thursday evenings, I am co-teaching the UW iSchool graduate-level information retrieval class in Fall 2010. Previously, I've worked at Microsoft Research (intern) in search log mining, Yahoo (fulltime) in distributed data processing, Google (intern) in click fraud, and other software engineering internships at Microsoft and Motorola.
