Current

I currently work at Louisiana State University as an IT Manager in the Auxiliary Services department. We are the business end of the University and operate with the bottom line in mind. As a result, the solutions I develop are geared towards streamlining processes and integrating technologies. Since the University has many "legacy" systems (IBM Mainframes, Blackboard transaction systems, door access, etc.), I spend a good bit of time modernizing them with wrappers and APIs, usually in Ruby.

Special Projects

In addition to my full time position, I've been sought out by other LSU departments to work on special projects. For the Division of Student Life and Enrollment I act as the project manager for their web projects. Most recently, this has included a complete rebuild of the web platform in the division. I also work with LSU Athletics to develop and enhance software designed to manage and analyze Mainframe data and transmit it to a third-party service for LSU student athlete performance monitoring.

Past

My professional career has been split between several IT positions at LSU and consulting. Throughout the 8 years I've been at LSU, I've excelled in each position and rapidly moved up to higher positions. Outside of LSU, I consult with companies in several different industries on technology projects. I have a strong desire to produce results above expectations. I'm primarily self-taught and will continue evolving with technology.

The Future

I'd love a new challenge. Being the only [full-stack] developer in my department, and one of very few at my University, is holding me back. I want to be part of or lead a team of competent developers. I'm ready to learn from the best. Then be the best.
