Jeffrey L. Morris, founding partner at McLaughlin Morris, P.A., leads the Criminal Defense Practice at the South Florida firm. Jeff Morris is an experienced criminal law attorney and a former prosecutor. He defends clients throughout Delray Beach and Miami charged with various crimes, including white collar crimes, drug crimes, identity theft, sexual offenses, marijuana offenses, DUI/drunk driving and others.

Jeff also supports McLaughlin Morris’ Personal Injury Practice, representing the victims of negligence and other wrongful acts, such as auto accidents, premises liability, wrongful death and recreational accidents. He has been practicing law in South Florida since 2005.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Decision Information Science and also a Masters of Science in Sports Management from the University of Florida. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he achieved the Book Award in Trial Practice.

During law school, he clerked for the Honorable Raymond T. McNeal, Circuit Judge in Florida’s 5th Judicial Circuit in Ocala, FL and he also interned for the State Attorney’s Office in Gainesville, FL.

He entered into the law field as an Assistant State Attorney in the 17th Judicial Circuit where he prosecuted criminal cases for nine years, including six years exclusively in the Economic Crimes Unit where he specifically represented the State in white collar and financial crimes cases.

Having participated in more than 45 jury trials during his tenure, Jeff understands how the state works when pursuing charges and how it will build its case. He uses that knowledge to develop the strongest possible defense for his clients and to fight aggressively for the best possible resolution.

Jeff has significant experience with a variety of misdemeanor and felony cases, including drug possession, drug trafficking, driving under the influence, theft, burglary, robbery, battery, aggravated battery, arson, attempted murder, identity theft, embezzlement, investment fraud, healthcare fraud, mortgage fraud, tax fraud, insurance fraud and others.
