Jeffrey Drazan
A private equity expert with more than 25 years of experience, Jeff Drazan provides guidance and funding strategies to companies in the technology, operations, manufacturing, and business services industries. Throughout his years in the venture capital market, Jeff Drazan has aided numerous companies in the transition from start-up to mature company status. Before beginning his career, Jeff Drazan attended Princeton University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He then completed an M.B.A. program at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Jeff Drazan began a business career in operations as well as research and development at such corporations as Bell Laboratories and AT&T.; Recognizing the importance of technology as a business tool, Jeff Drazan co-founded Sierra Ventures. At that private equity firm, Jeff Drazan served as a Managing Director, assisting with the strategy for more than $1.5 billion in capital. During his tenure at Sierra Ventures, Jeff Drazan advised such companies as FrontBridge, which Microsoft later acquired; ConvergeNet, which Dell purchased; and Combinet, which Cisco Systems bought. Jeff Drazan has served as a Director on the boards of several companies, including Micromuse, which IBM acquired, and Centex Telemanagement, which MFS (now MCI-Worldcom) purchased. Jeff Drazan also has participated as a member of the boards of directors for On Assignment Inc., Vertel Corporation, and Digital Generation Systems, Inc. In his current capacity as a Managing Partner of Bertram Capital Management LLC, Jeff Drazan leads a team that invests more than $850 million. Leaders of companies such as American Fiber Systems (now Zayo), Valere Power (now Eltek Valere), Element Labs, Inc. (now part of Barco), and Theravance Inc. have appointed Jeff Drazan to serve on their firms’ boards of directors.
