I am a faculty member in the Dept. of Psychology at Rowan University, where I teach, do research, and mentor students who are interested in Psychology & Health. I am also an Adjunct faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine, where I maintain active research collaborations. My research focuses on understanding the connection between being mindful and being healthy. I am especially interested in how mindfulness meditation impacts biological pathways (e.g., neurotransmitters, stress hormones, immune cells, blood pressure, and gene expression) and behaviors (e.g., sleep, eating habits, physical activity, and adherence to medical regimens) that are important for mental and physical health. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I specialize in integrating mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients treat and prevent stress-related health problems, from depression and insomnia, to high blood pressure and chronic pain. Please visit my lab website (www.mindfulnesslab.org) to learn more about our work, including ongoing studies, research training opportunities, publications, and more!
