Jeffrey Pikel

I am a marketing and finance double major in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, expected to graduate in the spring of 2016. I have a passion for the insurance industry, and for interacting with customers in an attempt to solve their problems. My education and past experiences have allowed me to acquire crucial skills that are very beneficial towards the insurance field.
During my time as an intern at the DeHayes Group insurance agency, I truly fell in love with every facet of the insurance industry. I was able to gain practical experience with Microsoft Excel, where I edited data for various customer files, and continued to expand these skills during my time in college. I also received training from insurance brokers through my time interning at the DeHayes Group, where I was able to learn about the agency side of insurance, while also learning about different aspects about insurance policies, and coverage.
During my time this past summer as a sales/customer service representative for Bart’s Watersports, I was able to interact with customers in-store, as well as over the phone, and gained problem solving skills by aiding them with any issues or questions about products.
I have learned over my work and school experience that my analytical qualities, love for customer and person-to-person interactions, as well as my love for the insurance industry, I would be a perfect match for any company seeking an aspiring underwriter with insurance knowledge, an outgoing personality, and a leadership background.
