At the age of fourteen, while at a youth camp the Lord saved me and called me to the mission field. I was on fire for the Lord for a while after that, but at the age of eighteen, I ran from the Lord. I enrolled in a secular college and tried my hardest to get away from God. During my senior year of college the Lord, in His great mercy, began to move in a mighty way in my life to draw me back to Him. It was at that time that I received a letter from UW-Madison informing me that I had been accepted for graduate school. I didn't realize at that time that it was God working, but I accepted the offer and moved to Madison in August of 2000.
When I moved to Madison, I began attending Madison Baptist Church and reading the Bible on a daily basis. In just a couple of months the Lord again began dealing with me about preaching. I talked with Pastor Fred Weiss about my call and began volunteering at the church school. In July of 2001 I left graduate school and the Lord provided a job that allowed me to work two to three days a week and volunteer at the church the rest of the time. From there Pastor Fred Weiss began to train me for ministry as the Pastor's assistant and then eventually the Assistant Pastor. I was ordained on November 2, 2003 and became Pastor of Brodhead Baptist Church in March of 2005. I pastored there until December of 2010. At that time I believed the Lord was again renewing the call to the mission field. I returned to my home church (Madison Baptist) and continued to serve the Lord while seeking His will regarding a mission field.
In September of 2012 I was privileged to be on a Scripture campaign with Couriers for Christ to the country of Bulgaria. During that campaign I met missionary Nick Maulucci. He invited me to spend a month in Bulgaria taking care of his work while he was back in the U.S. on a furlough. The Lord used this to open my eyes to the great need in Bulgaria. In May 2013 I was able to again be the Assistant Pastor of Madison Baptist Church under Pastor Mike Weiss. I believed the Lord was using this time to prepare me for heading to the mission field. In February 2014, while attending a revival conference, the Lord spoke very clearly to my heart that He had called me to the field of Bulgaria and that now was the time to go. I count it a great privilege that the Lord allows me to serve Him at all; it overwhelms me that He would let me serve on the mission field.
