Jeff Tietz
Jeff Tietz is an award-winning writer with dozens of nationally published articles to his credit. Currently based in Austin, Texas, Jeff Tietz has contributed to the pages of Harper's Magazine, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, and The New England Review, among many other notable magazines and journals. Several of Jeff Tietz’s stories have been republished and can be found in Best American Magazine Writing 2003, Best American Crime Writing 2003, Best American Crime Writing 2005, and The Animal Factory. Jeff Tietz holds an MFA in writing from Columbia University. While there, Jeff Tietz received a Writing Division Fellowship and a National Arts Club Fellowship. Prior to enrolling at Columbia University, Jeff Tietz received his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his studies with a 3.9 GPA and graduated magna cum laude. In his senior year at UT Austin, Jeff Tietz received both Marshall Scholarship and Rhodes Scholarship invitations. He also joined the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Jeff Tietz plays basketball and the drums. Among the writers Jeff Tietz admires most are Ian Frazier, Alec Wilkinson, and Joseph Mitchell.
