BTS, not behind the scenes, but the K-POP boy band that has taken the world by storm. I remember the first time I encountered them like it was yesterday. I watched the Billboard Music Awards in May of 2018 when they performed their single “fake love” for the first time on american television. In all honesty, I was perplexed by their performance. But, something about them struck me into wanting more. Who are these men from South Korea? Why are girls crying over them? Little did I know, I would also be crying over them in the coming months.
After the Billboard Music Awards, I passionately researched more about BTS and became immersed in who they are. At the time, I was more invested in them than I was in anything else. I watched hours of YouTube videos, read articles, stalked their twitter page, and even purchased four copies of their latest album at the time. It’s safe to say that I was addicted to BTS. So much so, I convinced my mom to take me to their concert in New York that October.
BTS was, and still is, the root of my happiness. Their music and genuineness has allowed me to discover and embrace who I am as a person. When I’m sad, happy, angry, etc. I turn to BTS. They motivate me to become a better version of myself everyday no matter what struggles I encounter. It’s almost as if they entered my life when I needed them the most. I find myself being filled with immense pride when someone mentions them. I am proud to say that I am a fan of BTS. They have become an integral part of my life and I am forever grateful for the impact they’ve had thus far on my life.
