Jen Bumstead

I am Jennifer Dawn Bumstead, most people call me Jen or ShutterBug after my small business ShutterBug Photography by Jen. I was born in Saginaw, MI raised in the place I call home Grand Rapids, MI. I am a Forest Hills Northern Husky and Alumni of Grand Valley State University where I received a bachelors degree in Photography with a Communications emphasis which I used to launch my lifestyle & corporate photography studio www.shutterbugbyjen.com. I am the oldest of 2 girls. I am wife to Nathan, Mom to Asa & Stepmom to Tyler. My sense of style is Anthropologie meets Modcloth & it's one of my favorite forms of expression. I like an eclectic mix of homemade & vintage and surround myself with this style through my photography, home decor and clothing. I LOVE Animals. I am a tom boy who enjoys riding my four wheeler and flying around town in my hubbies Jeep Wrangler with the top off. I am also a fashionista who loves a good sale and a cute pair of poetic license heels! My favorite places on earth are Venice Italy & my closet which is a spare bedroom we transformed into a walk-in closet to harbor my shopping habit. I love to reupholster old chairs and fix vintage pieces with my friend Sarah who owns Chai Boutique and specializes in fixing up reclaimed pieces which she sells in her store and decorates my home with! I think my best assets are my eyes & my curves. 3 words I would use to describe me are; sentimental, unique & vibrant. Two things most people don't know about me; I have Scoliosis & ADHD. My favorite season is Fall, my favorite holiday is Halloween. I always look at the clock at 1:17 pm for some strange reason which is ironic because my birthday is January 17th and my lucky number is 17. I love to sing, I am a bottom alto and theatre enthusiast and find joy in all genres of music. I am a foodie but I hate to cook. I love puppies, hot chocolate, family, babies, naps, thunderstorms, poppies, fireflies, bonfires, Moscato, chairs, decorative pillows, old movies, flea markets, ice cream, poetry books, cafe de paris, candle light, the ocean, the colors aqua, cream & peach, my mom, wild flowers, Band of Brothers, twitter @shutterbugjen & instagram. These are just a few of my favorite things.
