I'm from Central Massachusetts and I'm studying hospitality & nutrition at Umass Amherst.

When I was in the third grade my mom was diagnosed with heart disease. Since then, her health has digressed and she is now taking more than 14 different medications daily. With each medication there was a new side effect, and the solution was another pill to compensate for them. I've always believed there must be another way to be healthy and to get better and I think I have finally found the answer: Nutrition.

I believe in the concept of healing through nutrition. I believe that if my mom made nutritious food choices, she could not only get off of many of her medications, she could be healed. I believe that if I continue to educate myself in the field of nutritition, I can heal her, and many others.
