Jen Leonard is an interdisciplinary designer, with deep experience in human centered research methods, brand strategy and storytelling techniques. She worked as a Senior Design Lead at IDEO for 10 years before launching Brand New Ways, her blog, podcast and boutique consultancy.
Jen co-authored Massive Change (with Bruce Mau), a book about the future of global design, voted 1 of 5 top books of the year of its publishing by Wallpaper* magazine. She also worked for nearly a decade as a writer and radio broadcaster in New York and Toronto after studying journalism in graduate school, where she received the top researcher award and Norman Jewison prize for creative writing. Upon completing an internship at Rolling Stone magazine, she went on to run a series of popular radio programs and publish feature pieces in popular magazines such as Details, Nylon, Seed, DAMn, Azure, Saturday Night and Shift.
Jen frequently participates in design conferences around the world and was recognized in I.D. magazine's annual design issue for her concept to raise awareness of global warming.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and raised on the shores of (Great) Lake Huron, Jen currently resides in San Francisco, California.
