Jenna Freschi
Marketing and Merchandising, Student, and gamer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Growing up in the small and very Italian town of Trail, B.C, I was always unsatisfied with the constriction that enveloped me from living in a place with a lack of options and creativity. I dreamed of being a Weather Woman, a great Novelist, an Actress and a Voice Actor, but felt like I was falling short from being able to achieve my dreams. With those goals in mind, I ventured to Vancouver, B.C to start my new life and see if I could really succeed on a larger platform.
Of course, I failed. I failed at many things and the lines had blurred on what my goals truly were, but this has what really made me a stronger person. My failures have evolved into my successes and my fantasies have started to become reality. At 23 years old, I have successfully hosted an event with my classmates, created look books, magazines, and websites, and am now graduating from The Visual College of Art and Design with a Diploma in both Marketing and Merchandising for Fashion. This may not have been my dream as a child, but that's the thing about dreams, they evolve with the person.
One of my favorite aesthetics are the evoking feelings of nostalgia, as well as an ethereal romanticism draped in fantasy. I strongly believe in feminism and positive body image for all shaped and sizes, especially in fashion and gaming. I hope that my work creates a meaningful dialogue in the portrayal of women within the industry and inspires others to take on this important conversation.
