Jenna Koen
Education Student, High School Tutor, and Aspiring teacher in Johannesburg, South Africa
I try and live my life according to the motto: “to make a positive difference in the lives of every person I meet.”
In order to live this out in all aspects of my life, I am an aspiring teacher, who wishes to help my future learners succeed both academically and personally in the best way possible, while having fun and knowing they are cared for. I hope to build individuals who are innovative and can adapt to any situation life throws at them.
In my education, I strive to always do my best, build my knowledge as much as I can and always try and relate content to real-life situations or future classroom examples. As I complete my studies, I keep my passion for teaching and working with young people alive by tutoring high school learners, helping them to find as much excitement and love for the Accounting Subject as I have.
I also volunteer at underprivileged schools, offering my time, services and skills to help improve their learning program as well as their learning environment. As well as work with a number of organizations, schools, and groups in various roles, including leadership.
In a personal capacity, I find it crucial to always take some time to relax and do things I enjoy. This includes photography, music, sewing, being in nature, spending time with my friends, and a very big aspect of my life is growing deeper in faith. I always just be myself and try be the sunshine in the darkness for people.
