Jenna Soleo-Shanks

Jenna Soleo-Shanks received her PhD in Theatre with a Certificate in Medieval Studies from the City University of New York Graduate Center in 2009. Her scholarship focuses on the political function of medieval performance, with particular interest in the circulation and recovery of performance evidence. She is currently working to revise her dissertation, entitled Performing the Ben Comune: the Politics of Performance in a Medieval Italian City-State. Previous writing has appeared in Theatre Survey and Western European Stages. Dr. Soleo-Shanks is an instructor at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa where she teaches theatre and interdisciplinary liberal arts.
