I was born in the Flathead Valley thirty - one years ago. My dad raised myself and my two sisters by himself, until my brother came along in 1990. He was forced to divorce when I was in the sixth grade, leaving him to raise four of us by himself .... he's a siant!

I graduated high school early so that I could work my way through college, married in 2002, and had my first and only child two years later. I have since graduated college, earning my Associates degree; I am currently going back for my bachelors degree so that I can teach k-4 grade.

I have accomplished a lot in my thirty - one year. I have beat the odds and though it does not seem like a big deal to most, I feel as though I am on top of the world! You see, both of my mothers were in prison for most of my life, and I struggled all the way through school. My grades were pretty much D's, C's, and an occasional F, no matter how much I studied and tried and could not get the 'good grades'.

However, I did not give up, even when I got so frustrated I reduced myself to a puddle of goo, I got back up and went back at it, because I have learned that it is not the falling that counts, but the getting back up. I can proudly say that I am the only one in my family with a college degree!
