I am a teacher of Languages trying to inspire an appreciation for culture and critical thinking, learning new and innovative forms of Tech, and striving to make everyday count! My interests range from reading to travel, and most certainly education.

I have been teaching for 11 years at the secondary level and have been sharing my love and passion for second-language learning through French and Spanish. I have been fortunate enough to be part of a wonderful department and have contributed to the implementation and growth of the extended French program at my school. Currently, I am planning potential future French-language courses that will support the transition of the French immersion program, which is due to arrive at the secondary level in 3 short years. I am the teacher advisor for our Global Action team and as a group together we bring social issues, both locally and globally, to the forefront and create awareness. Throughout my teaching career, I have coached basketball, ultimate frisbee and track & field and have thoroughly enjoyed watching students grow and realize their potential outside of the classroom.

I have been teaching at my current school for 8 years and it is home to 1100 students of mixed socio-economic status and continues to grow culturally and ethnically. Our differences and identities are embraced and celebrated and I am so proud to be part of a positive environment as our school population continues to grow and create an accepting learning environment.

I have chosen to pursue Guidance and Career Studies Part 2 as a means to broaden my horizon and career opportunities but most importantly to become a better teacher and help more students where and when I can. I plan to use the knowledge I learn through this course and apply it to my role as a teacher both in and outside of the classroom in order to guide students on their path of life. I want to continue making a difference and this course will help me on my journey.

I have shared with you a glimpse of me and my classroom. You can click the button above to take a peek at my classroom happenings. I try to post 3 times a week to make our learning visual and show the world what we do!

Thank you for joining me on this journey, enjoy!
