Jennifer Skyler is Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at American Express, where she oversees global public affairs and media relations, social media, colleague communications, and corporate sustainability. Under her leadership, her organization’s mission is to operate as a best-in-class strategic function that strengthens and safeguards the American Express brand while supporting colleagues, customers, and communities. Jennifer is Chair of the American Express Foundation and Executive Corporate Sponsor of NextGen, a group that connects colleagues across generations. She is a member of the American Express Executive Committee and serves as an executive officer of the company.

Before American Express, Jennifer was Chief Communications Officer at WeWork, where she built and scaled a multi-disciplinary function encompassing communications, government relations, public affairs, strategic events, brand, and social impact. Prior to that, she worked at Facebook, where she launched the company’s consumer communications and data science teams and led press strategies for key products and partnerships across news, sports, and entertainment.

Jennifer’s career began in newsrooms. She started at CNN, progressed through increasingly senior roles, and ultimately became a White House producer. She later worked at MSNBC and joined the CBS Evening News as an anchor producer. At CBS, she contributed to political coverage during the 2008 election as part of a team nominated for two Emmy Awards and honored with the Alfred I. duPont Award.

Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Michigan, with a major in Communications Studies and a concentration in Japanese, and she currently serves as a Trustee of the Spence School in New York City.
