Jennifer Lando, Ph.D.
Dr. Jennifer Lando is Assistant Dean and Director of Undergraduate Student Services in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University.
I have nearly two decades of experience in higher education, including academic advising, student activities, orientation, leadership development, fraternity and sorority life, and curriculum.
Diversity and social justice are the cornerstone to my personal and professional life. I believe in equality for all and breaking down the barriers of the -isms that plague our society. I believe in education, and most notably, a higher education, as being transformative for individuals and communities. My dissertation, entitled "Latina Cultural Brokers in Higher Education"explored the narratives of 10 Latina women who were native Spanish speakers, and their experiences as cultural brokers in the college setting.
In addition to my professional role, I spend time volunteering for Theta Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Theta Phi Alpha Foundation as the Director of Education and Programs. I am committed to both the positive impact of sorority life, as well as assisting others in giving back to ensure a rich experience for future generations. I'm a soccer mom for my daughter's team and also serve as an Assistant Coach for my son's t-ball team.
My Strengths are Input ~ Ideation ~ Maximizer ~ Strategic ~ Learner, and I love being a Buckeye, both as an employee and an alumna!
