My professional life started with my choice to attend the University of Mississippi. An amazing school gave me a fantastic education. I graduated in 2009 with a BBA in marketing communications (a major I chose from my love of marketing and interest in business). While in college, I took my first internship with Pizza Marketing Quarterly (PMQ) for the 2007 Orlando Pizza Show. I was shown the ropes on B2B selling and first got my toes wet in PR working with the U.S. Pizza Team.
Prior to graduation, I had the opportunity to be the marketing consultant and later director of a small blog/start up investment advice business. I became invested in learning the ins-and-outs of internet marketing. I became versed in writing for SEO, Google AdWords, correct use of HTML tags and the like. I also began managing social media accounts.
In 2010, however, the company sold and I moved on. I took a position as a retail sales position at Sprint. I was finally part of a large, fun and functional team.
Seeing my success in the sales field, I was offered a position at Hearst Media as a digital marketing sales consultant. There, I met with individuals and companies and helped them find ways to better market themselves online and to upsell products and services (both online and in print for the LocalEdge phone book) based on those needs and for the reach they desired.
Once I began private consulting, I had the opportunity to work with local companies, an advertising agency and most recently, a large, national online reputation management firm.
My heart lies in my ability to truly feel for a brand, product or message that I believe in.
