Jennifer Calfas

I'm currently a junior at the University of Michigan pursuing an English major and a Political Science minor in the LSA Honors Program.

During the academic year, I am the Editor in Chief of The Michigan Daily. I previously served as the Managing News Editor, where I was responsible for all content produced from the news section. Before then, I covered the administration beat. In the summer of 2013, I was an Editorial Intern at The Hollywood Reporter in Los Angeles, where I covered movie premieres and wrote for THR.com.

Before college, I contributed to my local newspaper, The Palos Verdes Peninsula News, reported and wrote articles for the International Olympic Committee's Fifth International Women in Sport Conference, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of my high school paper The Mainsheet.

Outside of journalism, I am an avid runner. Since beginning college, I ran Personal Record in the Chicago Marathon of 3:47 in Oct. 2014, the Detroit International Marathon in October 2013, and four half marathons across the country. Next up: the Ann Arbor Half Marathon on March 29.
