Eight years ago my mother-in-law, who is a real estate broker, invited me to come on board with her and become a real estate team. After being a stay-at-home mom the invitation was tempting. Being in Real Estate would allow me the flexible work schedule that I needed to still be extremely involved in my children’s lives. So I took on the challenge and became a licensed realtor in the state of Arkansas.
I became a part of the real estate profession in late 2007, right around the time that the housing market began to crash. The huge bang happened in 2008. So I have never been one of the realtors that just got to "ride the wave." I've had to learn how to work the hard way and build my clientele base by proving that I am seriously offering a service centered around their needs...not my own.
Here I am now, in 2015. Wow, the market has recovered! Not only are folks buying homes, but folks (besides banks) are selling homes! I can tell my buyer clients and my seller clients that it's a great time to buy or sell their homes! I love being able to do this. I am loving the "balanced" market!
It is incredible being able to help people with the biggest investments of their life. I recently was helping one of my couple clients who truly wanted a better home to raise their children in. They desired this new home so badly that they wrote the most beautiful letter to the sellers. This letter explained how much they loved the house and would care for it. How they would do their best to raise their children to be "God Honoring" in this home. I was reading the letter and tears began to flow! It's moments like these that encourage me to keep on doing what I am doing!
My career has allowed me to be available for my family and my clients. I do feel that I am a very blessed person and thankful to God that he has pointed me in this direction for this time.
