Understanding Reiki
Reiki is both a science and an art. Reiki increases and directs the very energy we are made of; universal life force energy.
Energy is the underlying reality of our universe. Unseen energy flows through us and directly affects the quality of our health. When our life force energy decreases we are more susceptible to poor health and an inability to enjoy restful sleep.
Benefits
- we heal faster with less pain
- improves appetite and sleep
- reduces the negative side effects of chemotherapy, radiation and other medical procedures
- energizes body’s healing powers
- raises red blood cell count
- improves one’s mental attitude and promotes psychological healing through release of anger, fear, worry, sadness etc. and helps replaces them with healthy feelings
- releases stress and strengthens our ability to more effectively address and overcome fear
Use in Hospitals
Reiki is frequently made available through the medical community, with over 800 hospitals across the US offering Reiki as a standard practice as part of hospital care.
What is a Session Like?
Resting fully clothed on a massage table or in a zero gravity chair, I gently place my hands on or above your energy centers (chakras) and joints. A session usually lasts between 30 minutes to one hour. Reiki is unique in that it is administered through radiating from the practitioner’s hands universal life force energy rather than manipulating tissue and muscle.
Reiki Classes
Classes are available for those wishing to learn how to give Reiki sessions. Reiki is simple and easy to learn. There are no prerequisites. Once you have learned, you can give Reiki to yourself and to others.
Reiki is a part of integrative medicine and not a substitute for a professional medical diagnosis or care.
