Jennifer Allison
Consultant in St. Louis, Missouri
I've always been the curious type and would rather explore things on my own than just take someone's word for it. I left college at 19 to work as a professional photographer for various studios for 7 years. From there I went out on my own, moved to NYC and worked 4 years doing photography, graphic design, retail management, and dabbled in real estate. I became a small business owner in 2008. I decided to go back to university in 2010. I earned an AA, AS, then a BA at Saint Louis University: Metalsmithing, sculpture, and graphic design. At my core, I am a documentary-style storyteller with a passion for understanding people, their interactions with things and each other, and how this intersects with business. My lifelong thirst for learning and entrepreneurship eventually led me to Parsons in NYC where I earned the Master of Science Degree, in Strategic Design and Management in 2015. At Parsons, I learned the value and practice of design thinking, human-centered design and the amazing solutions that come from cross-collaborative teams. For my Master's Thesis, I utilized design thinking methodologies to create a human-centered framework for virtual team dynamics. In 2014, I joined as Partner to Design Thinking Solutions, LLC, and in 2016 I joined Xperiencelab as a Business Design Consultant and Experience Architect.
