Dr. Jennifer Browdy de Hernandez is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at Bard College at Simon's Rock, where she has taught since finishing her doctorate at New York University in 1994. She is the editor of two anthologies, Women Writing Resistance in Latin America & the Caribbean (South End Press, 2004) and Africa Women Writing Resistance: Contemporary Voices (University of Wisconsin Press, 2011).
She lectures and teaches classes in world literature, human rights, gender studies and media studies, blogs regularly on politics and environmental issues at Transition Times and is the founding director of the annual month-long Berkshire Festival of Women Writers.
