Some would call it a mid-life crisis, I say it's just a career change to balance out working to convince millions they need buy things! I spent the first 20-something years being educated. The next 20 or so in advertising, marketing and media.
My next 20 have just started in the area of medical education, public health and disaster management. I know, quite a transition. I haven't gone totally soft though, I still stimulate the world's economies whenever I can! Hey, I do my part. I hope the next 20+ after this are in retirement, travel and fun!
What am I doing now? Directing medical education through simulation. Think replicated hospital with robot patients. Cool stuff. Kind of like HAL 2000, but more high tech and less likely to take over. At least I hope so. Maybe I better lock my office door.
