Jennifer Cheruiyot

A registered nurse with a bachelor of science in nursing from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Jennifer Cheruiyot also holds official certification in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, and psychiatric nursing. She has provided direct medical care to mental health patients since 2011 as a head registered nurse at the Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. This position places her in charge of an acute mental health unit with 30 beds. In addition to her responsibilities at Broadlawns, Jennifer Cheruiyot is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

Outside of the professional environment, Jennifer Cheruiyot supports the Gotabgaa International Organization, Inc., a Georgia nonprofit group that spearheads a range of economic empowerment projects in underserved and disadvantaged communities. She also makes regular contributions to My Brother's Keeper and Feed the Children. In her free time, Ms. Cheruiyot relaxes by reading and listening to music and stays fit by swimming and running track.
