Hi! I’m Jennifer, Founder, and CEC (Chief Executive Creative) of gracestudioDESIGNS, "a creative collective.”

I'm 100% #AlaskaGrown and did the Tokyo life for nearly two decades. Fun facts: I'm an award winning film producer, was in a GQ Japan magazine feature and Time Magazine’s 2006 Person of the Year. ;)

An apparel designer by trade, my appreciation for good design runs deep. When design and technology converge, beauty happens. Travel, writing, photography, filmmaking and crafting good stories float my boat. After experiencing Japan's 3/11 triple quake-tsunami-nuclear disaster, I discovered a passion for aid work. I’ve since trained and served as a crisis and disaster responder in Asia and the Middle East.

My core leadership philosophy is two fold:

☞ Lead well by empowering and equipping others to achieve 'the greater things.'

☞ Attaining a culture of excellence- in any sphere- is a matter of intention. Be intentional. Create the culture.

✎ CONSULTING | Start ups, NGO/NPOs and project launches. Gapfill assessments and strategic oriented planning. Consumer facing communications strategies (ie. social media). Operational and project management, including event planning and coordinating. Working with complex, multinational teams. The language training and cross cultural communications industries.

✎ TRAVEL WRITING, COPYWRITING, PROOFREADING, EDITING | As a regular contributor at Matador Network- the world's largest independent travel publisher- my author's page is available here. I served as 2016 Tokyo City Correspondent for Trip.com by gogobot. My copywriting, proofreading and editing experience spans digital and print. It includes promotional materials, film scripts, books, Wikipedia pages and myriad professional documents.
