Writer, Consultant, and Nurse in Canada
I was a Registered Nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (I.B.C.L.C) for thirty-five years. My work history involved working on pediatric, maternal and neonatal intensive care wards at a community hospital. I had two private practices and spent time as a respite nurse for handicapped children. An IBCLC is a specialist in human lactation (breastfeeding) and requires re-certification by either exam or education every five years. I am happily re-married to my childhood love and we live in a small community in Ontario on a beautifully landscaped lot beside Pigeon Lake. We have four children between us and three grandchildren. I retired with the onset of COVID and pursued my love of writing. I finally had the time to devote to putting pen to paper and since my retirement I have self-published two books. The first book is the wisdom accumulated over thirty-five years of nursing and is specific to breastfeeding issues. The second is considered my heart song and deals with many aspects of child loss.
