Digital strategy + Community Engagment in Baltimore, Maryland

I'm an experienced digital strategist dedicated to public service. I've spent my career building communities both online and offline. I love connecting people to each other and to the issues and projects that they're passionate about.

Currently, I'm Senior Communications Manager for the Online News Association (ONA), the largest association of digital journalists, where I create social media campaigns, lead email strategy and work with partners such as Google, WNYC, Poynter and others. I also design training programs and conferences for journalists, with a focus on bringing digital training to underserved communities and developing female leadership in newsrooms. Working closely with local leaders to create events and training opportunities that respond to their communities' needs through the ONA Local program, I've helped build a global network of journalism groups that now includes more than 10,000 journalists.

Before joining ONA, I led online projects, wrote about humanitarian issues and managed the social media presence in the United States for the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations agency fighting hunger worldwide. Educating media, policy makers and the public, I showcased the life-saving work that WFP was doing around the world and provided resources to people looking to help. I worked with the celebrity relations team and cultivated public-private partnerships to create events and engagement campaigns.

In addition to my work with ONA and WFP, I have worked with a number of other human rights, advocacy and arts organizations, handling communications, community engagement, press outreach and digital strategy and teaching community workshops.

I'm also a documentary photographer with work that has appeared in art galleries, and on websites like The Baltimore Sun, The Fader and TBD. Drawn to its mission to create an inclusive atmosphere that provides “film for everyone,” I volunteer as an event photographer for the Maryland Film Festival.
