JENNIFER SKUTELSKY
San Francisco
I was educated in South Africa and the US, where I’ve settled in San Francisco with my daughter and 3 rescued, immigrant pets. A softie and sometime warrior, I have a passion for the underdog and alternate realities. I love books and animals—elephants in particular but also wolves, dogs, rhinos, bats, and pigs. Horses. Whales. I talk to pigeons and imagine they respond. With roots in ballet and visual art, I’m most consistently a writer. I learned, through my work as an editor and literary agent, that sculpture and dance reside in all structure. Laughter and gratitude have often brought me back from the brink. I long to spend more time in the mountains, by the sea, next to a lake. I miss the South African bush. My memoir, TIN CAN SHRAPNEL, is available at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GKQCRJ0, and the trailer can be viewed at http://youtu.be/V9rJG8xM304. GRAVE OF HUMMINGBIRDS, a Gothic mystery, won the Clark Gross Award in the Novel at San Francisco State University and was awarded a publishing contract through the Kindle Scout program, to launch in May, 2015 through Kindle Press.
