I'm Jenny-Anne, an older married Trans woman, living with my partner Elen in Rhyl, North Wales. A graduate in Industrial Chemistry, now retired from managing the sales and marketing of scientific instrument for 35 years,I can engage in voluntary work for the Transgender and LGBT communities. This includes being a lay pastoral leader, a committee member of Manchester Metropolitan Church, a member of the Westminster Parliamentary Forum on Gender Identity, and trustee of several LGBT organisations. Also a member of many organisations and steering groups on reporting & reducing Hate crime, and on Equality and Diversity standards. Helping manage Unique, the largest Transgender social & mutual support group in Wales and chairing TransForum Manchester provides daily contact with the Trans community. I was part of the Sparkle Manchester organising team & work on several Equality and Equality Charter mark steering groups. My core interests include inclusion and recognition of full rights for all gender diverse people, the understanding, reporting, prosecution, management and reduction of Transphobic and Homophobic Hate Crime & use of restorative justice; improving the NHS health care pathway for Transgender people, particularly in Wales, fair and equitable health care for Older LGBT people in social care & care homes and the inclusion of Christian Transgender people in the life of UK Churches. I particularly enjoy providing Trans awareness and equality training, support for parents and children of Transpeople, and the use of performance art in education / awareness training. I'm part of projects to detail and record LGBT history in Wales ( Welsh Pride) and the “Gender Fluidity” project in Wales, which produces information leaflets for all Trans people and their supporters, and a consultant on the April Ashley project with Homotopia / Liverpool Museum. My partner Elen and I also run a community house for Trans people; and having appeared many times on various radio stations, several national and regional television programmes and in many magazine and newspaper articles, we do this work with the media to raise awareness , engender fair media treatment and proper representation for all gender diverse people.
Recently I won the Homo Heros award for volunteer of the year and was awarded an OBE for my work with the Trans community in the 2015 New Year Honours
