I've been making things as long as I can remember. I think I may well have inherited my granny's sewing genes along with her sewing box. My mum tells stories about me cutting up the dressing up clothes to make dresses for my teddy bears. At the time she was horrified, whereas I thought it was a perfectly sensible thing to do!

I still love playing with fabrics and am drawn to bold colours and patterns. I love being able to take something old or discarded and giving it a new lease of life as somethinng completely different. I love making things that are useful as well as beautiful. I am mainly self-taught, with a little help from my mum, my school textiles teacher, evening classes and Youtube along the way.

Perhaps unusually, I am a mathematician as well as creator. I work part-time as a maths teacher and also offer one to one maths tutoring.
