I'm a passionate reader. Quoting Donalyn Miller: "I am a reader, a flashlight-under-the-covers, carries-a-book-everywhere-I-go, don't-look-at-my-Amazon-bill reader." As a mom and teacher educator, my main love is children's literature. As a professional, I try to read as much professional literature as I can get my hands on as well. I try to be a literacy leader and pass on my love for literature to my students. My blog (addictedtoliterature.wordpress.com) came out of a conversation with a student asking for book recommendations previously discussed in class. Of course I remembered the book, but then I wanted a way to keep that connection with my students alive well past graduation. My blog is product of my desire to be a resource to them long after they graduate. To those students, former and current, thank you for allowing me to share my passion with you. Thank you for carrying the love of literacy to your students. You are why I do what I do.
