Jenielyn Espineli-Padernal, “Jen” to most of her close friends and colleagues, is an educator, an e-Learning specialistand a teaching with technology trainer living in the Philippines. She studied Computer Science in 1994 at De La SalleUniversity-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) in Cavite, Philippines and graduated in 1998. In 2008 she studied Masters inManagement at the Technological University of the Philippines and graduated in March 2010.
She became aneducator in June 2010 and is currently handling business subjects at the College of Business Administration andAccountancy and currently serves as the Director of the Center for Innovative Learning Programs at De La SalleUniversity in Dasmariñas Cavite.
Before she became an educator she has served the DLSU-D community as the department secretary for 11 years inthe same college and university, wherein, her experience as a secretary contributed a lot for her to be trained in thefield of education, leadership and management.
In the year 2011, she joined the Center for Innovative LearningPrograms of DLSU-D as the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) Coordinator. Part of her role as VLE Coordinator, is totrain teachers in the use of their Learning Management System. She has already trained approximately 600 facultymembers. She also managed and maintained almost 15,000 student accounts, this includes account creation andtechnical support.Currently, Jen holds the position of the Director of the Center for Innovative Learning Programs of DLSU-D, leadingthe team of 5, in managing the university’s learning environment both in physical and virtual domain, with anestimate of 14,000 students and 700 faculty members.
The team is fueled by passion, with the goal of bringing theuniversity’s digital learning and teaching programs, to focus more on globally-competitive educational outcomesand make the DLSU-D’s e-Learning environment more accessible locally and internationally.
In 2013, Jen became one of the Microsoft Education Ambassadors in the Philippines, up to the present and in 2014she was selected as one of the Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts worldwide and she still is up to this time. Shehas been a featured educator in the Microsoft dailyedventures.com, a worldwide Microsoft online magazine thatfeatures educators’ unique stories around the globe.
