Hello! I'm Jen.
Midwest is Best
Let's see, what are the basics about me? After graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work, I discovered that while I have a huge heart for people, I don’t have the necessary skills (read: emotional fortitude) to cut it in that field. Quite fortuitously, I found myself working at the library; today, nearly four years later, I am a Library Services Assistant II, aka office manager, handling all the administrative details from snags to supplies-- there's my lovely blurry ID badge picture-- and halfway through with my quest to become a children’s librarian.
On the rare occasions that I have downtime, I’m either reading or catching up with friends, although someday-- oh, that elusive someday!-- I am going to get back into indoor volleyball, making collages, and have a Once Upon A Time marathon. I could hug whoever came up with GoodReads, as it combines my love for reading with my love for organization. That being said, though, I am definitely more of an “organized chaos” kind of person. My desk may be a mess, but I know exactly where everything is located underneath all those piles!
Other interests include writing/receiving letters by post and making mix CDs. (I know, I know, I am definitely a child of the 90s!) If you can't tell by now, I also like paranthetical remarks, interjections, and employing various punctuation marks, although I promise to try and tone down on the exclamations in our discussions. (=
