José Jerónimo M Rodrigues
Jose Jeronimo Rodrigues is a senior PhD student at Carnegie Mellon | Portugal program. He received his B. S. and M. S. degrees in ECE at IST-Lisbon, in 2008.
He is receiving a research grant from the Portuguese Science Foundation since 2007 for work in permutation-invariant shape representations and pose estimation of textureless objects from images.
He was awarded a Merit scholarship in recognition for his academic excellence. In addition, his Master Thesis was recognized with the Professor Luis Vidigal award, for being the best among the several ECE and CS programs of the University.
His work focus mainly on computer vision and machine learning - especially on algorithms scalable to large datasets. His broader areas of interest include computational photography, advanced linear algebra, convex optimization, signal processing, differential geometry, randomized algorithms, and related fields.
