Born in the 1970s I have witnessed the rise of the personal computer. When I was 12 years old my brother bought a Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Knowing no other people that had one of those and wanting to play games, there was only one thing for it: learn how to program. Computers and the use of them as a tool became my profession. Making a hobby into a career cost me a hobby, but I enjoy my work. And let’s be honest: we spend a lot of time at work. Better enjoy it!

The birth of my son coincided with another digital revolution: photography. Around his first birthday I purchased my first DSLR. Lugging this around got heavy, so after a detour with a compact camera I now use a mirrorless camera.

Another revolution I am fortunate enough to witness are the developments in music recording. I have been using MIDI to record electionic music since the mid-eighties. Now I can do a lot more on a simple laptop and some software than was possible in a studio a couple of years ago.

Taking photographs and writing / remixing music have been enjoyable pastimes for me whilst looking for a new job.
