Hi, I'm a farm boy...born, raised & still residing. I took to all things mechanical at an early age starting with my first MX bicycle, then my 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th MX dirt bikes & snowmobiles.
Growing up, there was always farm equipment to be fixed, & I often looked at ways to improve the designs of what broke so I wouldn't have to fix it again. There were also opportunities to come up with new farm inventions that came about through necessity, one of which I entered into an inventors convention during the 90's that received interest, especially from the VP of the sponsoring company. He saw the vision & my ingenuity & encouraged me to seek patent protection but after looking into it & giving it some time, I decided not pursue a patent. However, unknown to me at the time, my patents would come later.
So while maintaining my farming income, I studied & graduated with an honours diploma in Mechanical Design at a local college & have been working full time in the Ag industry since 2000 while part time farming up until 2007. Since 2008, I've been engaged in freelance design work of mainly composite materials. During my Product Design time, I was fortunate enough to be on a team that included some really smart mentors & they gave me the freedom to prove myself. As a result, I came up with many clever designs that made it to product launch...2 of which turned into patents for me.
So my skills, aptitude & passion in my day job are as a innovative Product & Tool designer with years of APQP concurrent engineering experience as a product launch specialist...my true calling is being the best father I can muster.
