As Director of Content for the AFCI, I managed the professional development and certification program and produced educational events. The program helps municipalities build their own local film industry and promote their region to the world. With 300 members in over 40 countries, I've been able to learn a lot about the world and how to communicate effectively across cultures.
As film commissioner for the County of Tuolumne, I marketed my community to the film industry and served as a liaison during production. As chairman and founding board member of FLICS, I coordinated the effort to jointly market California, helped to create a standard of service for all film commissions in the state to follow, and lobbied to keep the film industry in the State. During that time, I also served one term on the AFCI Board of Directors.
In my previous career in television, my credits include local, business, and technology news in nearly every editorial capacity. I was part of an award-winning TV news team, a national television production network about technology, and the first live video newscast on the Internet. I've produced over 1200 hours of programming and supervised the production of more than 2000 additional hours.
