As president and CEO of Atlanta Bread, Jerry Couvaras leads an expanding bakery café franchise that offers customers quality products in a quick, casual environment. Over the past 18 years, he has emphasized healthy foods that expanded culinary options beyond the aging “burger and fries” fast food concept. Jerry Couvaras takes pride in the fact that his restaurant incorporates fresh ingredients into creations that include his personal favorite: clam chowder paired with a roast beef sandwich on nine-grain bread. The menu evolves continuously, showcasing seasonal favorites such as the roasted organic butternut squash and the turkey berry brie sandwich.
Mr. Couvaras conceived of Atlanta Bread while visiting a sandwich shop in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Purchasing the business in 1995, he built a restaurant concept that featured European-style bread along with signature soups, salads, and pastas.
Jerry Couvaras originally hails from South Africa. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
