Jerry Gibson's career in education is marked by a deep commitment to fostering excellence within the Texas school systems. His influence stems from a lifelong passion for teaching, kindled by the positive role models he encountered during his schooling in Texas.

Gibson began his academic journey at East Texas Baptist University, graduating in 1993. His desire to impact the educational field led him to further his studies, obtaining a Master's in Education from Lamar University in 2002 and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston in 2015. These qualifications provided him with a robust foundation to navigate and lead within the educational sector.

Launching his career as a teacher and coach, Jerry initially focused on balancing academic rigor with athletic excellence. His roles quickly expanded to include positions such as athletic director, assistant principal, and principal. These experiences not only shaped his understanding of educational administration but also prepared him for more significant leadership roles within Texas education.

In 2011, Gibson was appointed the Executive Director of Secondary Education for the Waco Independent School District, where he managed operations for multiple schools and influenced the lives of over 6,500 students. His capacity for leadership was further recognized as he took on the role of superintendent for several school districts over the following decade, including notable tenures in Coldspring, Oakhurst, and Marshall. Significant educational reforms and improvements in student performance and resources characterized his tenure in these districts.

Jerry Gibson's leadership has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious ESC 7 Superintendent of the Year in 2020. His strategic initiatives significantly improved the educational standings of districts under his guidance, notably enhancing the academic ratings of Marshall ISD from nearly failing to a robust B average in a short span.
