Jerry Goedert

As Operations Engineer for Denver-based Petrogulf Corporation, Jerry Goedert has reduced costs and increased efficiency at oil and gas wells in Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming. While constructing a facility in hurricane-prone south Louisiana, he saved the firm $500,000 by reaching an agreement for design changes with federal authorities. The well hit production targets on time and within budget. Jerry Goedert also reduced water disposal costs at the site by 60 percent by negotiating a deal with a nearby well owner. Jerry Goedert has produced similar savings at other locations. After reviewing compressor usage in the field, he cut spending in half. He also found and disputed incorrect drilling charges totaling $100,000. Outside of his job at Petrogulf, Jerry Goedert performed as a Contract Operations Engineer for Aspect Energy in 2011. While there, he oversaw operations at shale and conventional wells. The position also included assessing the performance of jet-pump and gas lift wells, as well as using water and scale sample studies to back up workover recommendations. Jerry Goedert has spent much of his professional life in management and engineering posts in the environmental and oil exploration industries. His first job out of college was in oil exploration and production. In the mid and late eighties, he co-owned Sundial Exploration, Inc., in Denver. Between 1989 and 1995, he helped to administer a $6 million contract from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Later, as a Project Manager with URS Operating Services, he identified remediation options for hazardous waste in Colorado, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota. He accepted the Petrogulf post in 2008. Jerry Goedert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He earned a professional engineering license in 1991.
