Hello, I'm Jerry Winnett. I was born an artist. I started out young drawing cartoons and fantasy art. I was that kid you knew growing up who might be told to leave the room and sit in the hall, which is where I would continue to draw :)

I went to MTSU and studied Painting, Illustration, Graphic Design, Jewlery and Photograpy. It was in college I began a love affair with Photography. Initially I'd wanted to take a music class but it was not to be. I took my first Photography class with some reluctance and grew to love it.

After college I worked at place where I did murals and then a corporate affiliate of Gannette Publishing. From there to a printing house. One day I took up a clients offer and opened my own Design Business in the United Artist building in Nashville, TN. It was a blast! I ended up moving to a loft and began working in the Rap Industry.

Working with Rap was never boring and I ended up meeting a lot of interesting characters, many I still know. But I was growing tired of it and went back to general design work until I was approached to head up a new publication called City At Night. It was awesome, it was a terrible mistake but I don't regret it much. After two years I left my post at City At Night and began working with various publications and though the work was steady I was not happy.

One day I picked up DSLR and began shooting again. I began assisting Jay Farrell & Chuck Jones and Drew upon my memories of working alongside John Montgomery other photographers. I fell in love all over again.

These days I still do design work. I have shirts & prints I do. But iti is photogrpahy that has my heart.
