I am an artist, writer and educator living in Brooklyn.

For the last ten years, I have been examining the ever-changing boundaries between data, art and culture. I am a National Geographic Fellow and am the Innovator-in-Residence at the Library of Congress. I am an Adjunct Professor at New York University's ITP program.

From 2012 to 2017, I ran The Office for Creative Research, a hybrid design studio which defined new languages and forms for data communication. From 2010 to 2012, I was the Data Artist in Residence at the New York Times R&D Group.

You can watch my 2011 TED.com talk here. More recent talks that have also made their way onto the interwebs include this keynote at The Library of Congress and this talk at National Geographic's Explorers' Symposium.

For keynote speaking, I am exclusively represented by The Lavin Agency.
