I was born in a Yupik fishing village. yes you got that right. They don't call themselves Eskimos, that's a white person word. I lived there til 4 , so if you believe critical stage theory that's all you need to knwo. Then I grew up in small town Wisconsin as an only jew. And a Vikings fan which seemed like an equally marginalized identity.
I grew up gender-nonconforming, and thanks to my parents' death-squad hating friends (this was the days of Latin American Solidarity.)
