ABOUT

The work of visual artist Jesse Boyle is a playful blend of pop, street art and illustration. In his own words, "I make children's scribbles look like art." His mediums of choice range from: acrylic, watercolor, gouache, digital, ink, pencil, wood and metal. “My kids say that my art is cool and sometimes scary. Which is a good thing since most of my work is inspired by them.” Arizona born and Phoenix based, Jesse works in multiple mediums to shape his voice through his artwork. Applying his signature style to a landscape appealing to both children and the young at heart.

INSPIRATIONS

Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable... I have always been inspired by comics, cartoons and graphics. I started drawing at about 4 years old and I have always admired line-work, even in the characters on the cereal box. I think that, as well as my love for working with my hands, has really played a part in how I've come to view artwork, as well as shaping my approach as an artist. Today my biggest inspirations are my children, my kids have the best imaginations and I use that as a constant reminder to just enjoy being able to express myself through my artwork.
